Volunteering with Bayou Animal Services can be a fun and rewarding experience for all. Whether you have extra time on your hands or need volunteer hours for school or work, Bayou Animal Services has a program to meet your needs.
We welcome volunteers aged 10 to 14 to come volunteer with their parents. Ages 14 - 16 need to have a parent with them until they are deemed responsible enough to come on their own. Those aged 16 and over are able to come in as regular volunteers.
All volunteers are required to attend an OPEN HOUSE held at the shelter on the 2nd Saturday of each month. You will then be invited to take some basic training before you start actual volunteer jobs. All training is on-line, followed by hands-on training with some of our more seasoned volunteers.
Our volunteers are divided into 4 levels. Level 1 is the first step, Level 4 volunteers are our most experienced volunteers. Each level requires additional training and has more responsibility.
There is something for everyone.
